Check your name in Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) To increase the income of small and marginal farmers (SMF), the government has launched a new central sector scheme, namely, “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)” In the financial year.
The objective of PM-KISAN scheme is to supplement the financial requirements of SMFs to achieve various inputs to ensure proper crop health and proper yield, corresponding to the expected farm income at the end of each crop cycle.
This will also prevent them from falling into the hands of lenders to cover such expenses and ensure their continuity in farming activities.
An annual income of Rs. 5000 will be available through Direct Benefit Transfer. Which will be paid in three equal installments over an interval of four months. The first installment will be from December 2018 to 31/06/2018. The second installment will then be paid every four months.
The scheme will be effective from 01.12.2018 for transfer of benefits to eligible beneficiaries. The cut-off date for determining the eligibility of beneficiaries is 01.02.2019. Any change in the cut-off date for eligibility of benefits under the scheme for the next 5 years will be considered only with the approval of the Cabinet. However, benefits will be allowed on transfer of ownership of arable land on the basis of succession due to death of the landowner.
